Boat Lane Court Retirement Home

About Retirement Homes

About Us

Boat Lane Court was built in 1991 and was designed as a dedicated retirement home for the elderly. It is located in Northenden, a conservation area four miles to the South of the City of Manchester. Boat Lane Court is set around landscaped gardens, with ample car parking space incorporated. There are fifty four apartments, on three floors; all are accessible both by stairs and lifts.

The Court is close to Palatine Road, which has a wide range of shopping facilities as well as a Post Office and a Medical Centre. The local theatre is within walking distance, and swimming pools and cinemas are a short drive away. The mobile library calls every month and there is a fresh fish delivery every Tuesday. A visiting Chiropodist and a prescription delivery service are all available to any owners who wish to use them.

Boat Lane Court has an active social programme for owners who wish to participate. Keep Fit (gentle exercise!) to music is held every Monday. This Court is one of eleven private Very Sheltered Housing Schemes originally developed by Retirement Security Limited. The Manager is Ms. Donna Moss.

In matters particularly relating to Health and Safety and Personnel, assistance is available by a Management Company, as required. This company have been highly recommended to the Board of Directors and are, in fact, acting in a similar capacity for one of our sister Courts in the South of England. Our Manager and Board of Directors look forward to a happy and continuing relationship with this particular Management Company in the years ahead.
